Special events and race meets is something that VSA specialises in, we recognise that a timely shipping and clearance process is critical for special race meets so our staff work around the clock to ensure all deadlines are met. We have handled full shipping for special events such as the Australasian Safari in Western Australia, sent and returned many “invited” vehicles each and every year to the famed Mille Miglia event in Italy and Goodward in the UK and are currently in talks with assisting entrants to the International Rally of Queensland. As mentioned above, we have shipped many motorbikes to the USA and back on personal tours and a regular yearly request is shipping bikes to USA for touring there before and after and incorporating the fabulous “Sturgis” event before bring home the baby again at tour end all handled under a USA temporary import bond and treated by Australian Customs as “returned goods” and no taxes payable or with ATA Carnet. We replicate this process regularly with off road rally and track and drag events in the USA and also shipped to dry salt lake events at Bonneville.

VSA had staff on the ground overseeing both inbound and outbound operations, as well as successfully negotiated our clients around the pitfalls that was temporary on road registration and 3rd party insurance. We also have a long association with drift events and muscle car association events at Hampton Downs in NZ using our specialist systems to get track vehicles into NZ on a temporary basis and the containers delivered direct to the track and re-exported back to Australia as returned goods and no taxes paid. Speaking of NZ every year in March there is a very popular hot rod event called “Beachhop” and we have sent and returned many an Australian hot rod to this event over the years.
We have assisted many an individual or organisation under ATA Carnet (a Customs document for a vehicle to be stamped in and out, similar to how a passport works for personal purposes) allowing border free crossing through multiple countries without official entry and taxes required and ability to drive freely on overseas registration) for overland trips. Some recent examples are for a charity event from London to Sydney, around the world driving trips like a recent trip undertaken from Switzerland to North America, through Aust and NZ and onward overland to return to Switzerland, Pan American Trail trips from Argentina in the south to Alaska in the north, assistance on past Peking to Paris events, vehicles or general exhibition goods for single or multiple exhibitions worldwide or some time ago now assistance inward and outward of the Australian leg of the worldwide exhibition of the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.
